There is no denying that Chelsea are struggling to keep pace with both the Manchester teams this season and this is clearly because of their lack of proper business during the summer transfer window. The Blues are currently in 4th postition on the Premier League table with 13 points. This means that they are six points adrift of the top of the table and the gap will only grow larger if Conte and the board cannot steady the ship. And one way of doing so is to make a couple of good signings during the January transfer window.
By the looks of it, Chelsea and Conte might already have shortlisted a candidate for the January window and it is none other than Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal. The Chilean’s current contract at the club runs out in 2019 and as per the latest reports, the talks of a new deal have hit a roadblock. Bayern have also appointed a new coach in the form of Jupp Heynckes and this could mean that the Bavarians might very well offload Vidal at the start of the new year.
Clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United have caught wind of this situation at Bayern and both of them are willing to bring the player to their facilities if the German Champions do eventually decide to let him go. Italian giants Inter Milan are also reportedly interested in the player and are willing to pay some hefty amounts of money for the 30-year-old.
While the player will most certainly be a perfect addition to the Chelsea lineup as Antonio Conte badly needs some firepower in order to match up with his competitors but were are not quite sure if moving to Manchester United will be the right thing for Arturo Vidal. United already have a host of talent in their midfield and by the looks of it, Jose Mourinho has already decided on his favorite midfield duo for the rest of the season – Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.
