Manchester City return to the Premier League after the International break as they host Stoke City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. Guardiola’s men are easily the best team in England right now as the Cityzens are unbeaten in seven of their previous matches. And their last victory came two weeks ago at Stamford Bridge where they literally blew away Chelsea to seal the victory with a scoreline of 1-0.
Guardiola will be hoping that his players can continue the fine run of form even after the break as they take on Mark Hughes’ Stoke.
We take a look at Man City’s predicted lineup during the Man City vs Stoke City encounter:
Summer signing Ederson Moraes will be in charge of the goalkeeping duties at the Etihad on Saturday.
Guardiola will most certainly go with a four-man back line where John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi will be the central defenders and summer signings Kyle Walker and Danilo will play at right-back and left-back respectively. The defensive line of City is in top shape as they have only conceded a single goal in their past seven matches across all competitions. So to put it very simply, Stoke City are in for a tough night.
Danilo – Stones – Otamendi – Walker
The City boss will hopefully not play around with his midfield and will want to keep his winning combination intact. This means that the trio of Fernandinho, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will marshal the centre of the pitch for the Cityzens. While Fernandinho will play a more of a defensive role, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will be given the license of going up and helping out in attack.

The attacking third will see Gabriel Jesus play as the lone striker while being assisted by Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling from either flank. Sergio Aguero is back in training for City after the car crash in Amsterdam and is expected to be involved during the weekend. But most definitely he will be starting the match from the bench.
