Chelsea suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side and the reigning champion’s title defence looks well and truly over.
Chelsea returned back to Premier League action as they travelled to Selhurst Park in order to take on Crystal Palace. And everyone thought that this match was the perfect comeback game that Antonio Conte and his men needed after their humiliating loss at the hands of Manchester City two weeks back. But little did the Blues know that they would suffer a second defeat on the trot.
Before this game, Palace had failed to score in any of their past seven matches, so clearly on paper, this was supposed to be an easy victory for the Blues. But Chelsea lost the match 2-1 after Wilfried Zaha scored the second goal for Palace – which eventually turned out to be the match winner.
And a few hours before the match the Chelsea Twitter handle decided to mock(in a way) Crystal Palace and their poor start to the season. But little did they know that this plan would backfire and they would become the first team against which Palace would pick up their first points of the season.
This is the Tweet that Chelsea had put up:

Now after the game, Chelsea would clearly feel that should not have posted this tweet.
