Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has dismissed hopes of a reunion with Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini.

Recently multiple reports suggested that Antonio Conte was keen to sign Chiellini during the January transfer window as he feels the 33-year-old will be an apt replacement for the out of favour David Luiz.

But now the Chelsea boss has made it pretty clear that he has no intentions of making a move for Chiellini because he feels the Italian wants to finish his playing career at Juventus.

“Giorgio is a fantastic player but I think he wants to finish his career at Juventus. I think it’s right to finish his career in this way,” Conte told the press before the Arsenal clash on Wednesday.

He also said that such rumours are a part and parcel of the transfer window.

“A lot of speculation is normal when the transfer window starts. It’s a difficult moment for every coach,” he added.

Conte unwillingness to go for Chiellini might have to do with David Luiz. Conte also told in the press conference that he does not wish to sell or loan out any of his existing players during the January transfer window.
