Chelsea have reportedly cooled their interest in Celtic striker Moussa Dembele and are now in pursuit of Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

Chelsea were very keen to sign Dembele as a back up to Alvaro Morata but Celtic have reportedly quoted a price of £40 million which has put off the Blues.

Antonio Conte does not trust Michy Batshuayi and the Belgian might very well be sold during the January transfer window. And that is why the Italian is currently on the lookout for a backup striker.

Now though with Moussa Dembele out of the picture, reports claim that Chelsea have shifted their focus to Thomas Lemar – an Arsenal transfer target. Lemar was close to joining the Gunners during the summer but the Frenchman ultimately changed his mind primarily because Arsene Wenger was unable to offer him Champions League football.

Arsenal still hold a substantial interest in the player but now the whole picture could change with Chelsea upping their game in the pursuit of Lemar.
