Arsenal drew their Wednesday night Premier League fixture 2-2 against Chelsea and after the match, Arsene Wenger decided to lash out at the referee for giving a soft penalty decision in favour of Chelsea.

And now the Football Association has asked the Gunners boss to clarify his remarks.

Arsene Wenger pointed out that both the spot-kicks awarded against his club – one against West Brom on Sunday and the other against Chelsea, were more than mere coincidences.

Before the game against Chelsea, Wenger said, “I must say what is more frustrating for me is that it happened many times this season – at Stoke, at Watford, at Manchester City, at West Brom. That is a concerning coincidence for me.”

After the draw against Chelsea, Wenger once again commented, “When opinions always go the same way it’s coincidence. Statistically it’s built on the fact that when it’s repeated it’s not coincidence.”

Arsene Wenger was handed out a four-game touchline ban by the Football Association after pushing and verbally abusing fourth official Anthony Taylor and this time the FA have given the Arsenal manager until Tuesday to clarify his remarks or else he is in line once again to face severe punishments.
