Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set the record straight about his club’s interest in Bordeaux sensation Malcom.

A string of Premier League clubs have shown interest in signing the 20-year-old Brazilian and Arsenal were supposedly leading the line.

But now Arsene Wenger has revealed to the press that the Gunners are not interested in signing Malcom.

“Malcom is a good player but nothing is happening. We are not on that case at the moment,” Wenger told a news conference.

But Wenger certainly did not rule out other transfers during the January transfer window.

“I don’t rule it out – at the back, in midfield or up front,” he said.

“We are open, we are in the market, we are active, but I don’t want to give you news I can’t confirm after. In this transfer market, it’s very difficult.”

Initially, Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United were said to be interested in signing the attacker but with the Gunners opting out, the other two teams might spike their pursuit of the Bordeaux sensation.
