Manchester City look all set to pull out of the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez – as per reports.

Pep Guardiola was willing to offer £60 million for the Chilean International during the summer but Arsenal refused to accept the deal. Now in the January transfer window, it seems that Man City and Arsenal once again cannot agree on a transfer price.

According to the Press Association Sport, City are willing to pay £20 million for Alexis Sanchez which they think is a fair enough price for a player who has six months left on his contract. But the Gunners do not want anything less than £35 million.

And this disagreement of price has reportedly led to Man City pulling out of the transfer race.

Reports suggest that City will not be pursuing Alexis Sanchez – not atleast in January and they are happy to wait until the Chilean runs down his contract at the Emirates.

If this was a couple of weeks back then we would have said that Guardiola is taking the perfect decision. But things have changed during the past couple of days. It now seems that Manchester United are also interested in signing Alexis Sanchez and the Old Trafford outfit have made significant progress in bringing the player to the club.

Unlike City, Manchester United are willing to meet Arsenal’s asking price and they are rumoured to be negotiating personal terms with Alexis Sanchez. Once the personal terms are agreed upon then United will move forward and discuss a transfer price with Arsenal.
