Chelsea are now the frontrunners to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus as Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in the left-back.

Jose Mourinho had targeted the Brazilian International as a direct replacement for Luke Shaw but now reports are suggesting that the Portuguese manager has a change of heart.

Luke Shaw seems to have won back the faith of his manager after making a series of good performances for the first team.

Last season Mourinho openly criticised Shaw claiming that the left-back had to work very hard to get opportunities in the first XI.

But now the manager is all praises for the Englishman and it seems that United have decided to keep their faith on Luke Shaw.

Shaw’s current contract with United expires during the summer but the club are going to trigger a one-year extension and will also provide him with a new deal.

This act of faith on Luke Shaw means that Chelsea are now all clear to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus.

The Blues had made a £60 million bid for the Brazilian during the summer but the Bianconeri refused to let the player move.

The Juve management though have recently claimed that they will let Sandro leave if he wishes to move out of Italy.

Chelsea up until now were a bit sceptical because of the challenge from Manchester United. Now with the Red Devils pulling out, the Stamford Bridge outfit have a virtually clear road to the Brazilian.
