The week seems to be getting from bad to worse for Antonio Conte and Chelsea. First, the Stamford Bridge outfit were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Arsenal on Wednesday and now it is being reported that Edin Dzeko has rejected a contract offer from the London outfit.

The Blues have been out in the market looking to buy an additional striker to give some much-needed respite to Alvaro Morata. Chelsea had made enquires for Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch but ultimately it seemed that Roma’s Edin Dzeko would be the man who is coming in – to partner Morata.

According to Calciomercato(and now confirmed by Premium Sport), Dzeko has rejected the first contract that was tabled by Chelsea.

The Stamford Bridge outfit were willing to give the Bosnian a one-and-a-half year deal at the club whereas Dzeko is demanding a two or three-year and a half deal.

As per the report, both Roma and Chelsea have agreed on the transfer price which is being estimated to be in the region of €30 million and now only the agreement of personal terms between Chelsea and Dzeko is left.

Emerson Palmieri is another player who is scheduled to move to Chelsea alongside Edin Dzeko and the former has already agreed on a deal with the Blues.
