After Ashely Barnes, Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Edin Dzeko, Chelsea now seem to be interested in signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.

Antonio Conte has been out in the market to find a partner to Alvaro Morata but up until now every move the Blues have made has fallen flat on its face. Reports suggested that Chelsea were close to signing Edin Dzeko from AS Roma but now the Bosnian too has rejected a contract offer.

Dzeko reportedly rejected the offer because he was not happy with the details of the contract. The Blues though have not given up and are planning to table a new deal.

While that is going on, Chelsea are weighing their other options and are said to be looking at Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud.

The Blues want to sign the French International on a loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Wenger though has hinted that Giroud is not going anywhere despite him falling down the pecking order.

Wenger said: “I want Olivier to stay,

“If nobody comes in, nobody goes out.

“Maybe one or two young players out on loan but the experienced side of the squad stays. The experienced players will stay the same unless new players come in.”
