Arsenal are about to lose 18-year-old midfielder Marcus McGuane to Barcelona – as per reports.

The tough-tackling midfielder joined the Gunners academy in 2005 at the Under-6 level and has come up through the ranks. But a failure to break into the first team set-up has meant that McGuane is looking to move out of England.

Marcus McGuane has played 3 matches for the Republic of Ireland U17 national team and recently Scottish side Rangers have shown a keen interest in signing up the 18-year-old.

But according to Spanish journalist Kike Marin, McGuane has refused to join Rangers and is close to joining Barcelona.

The SPL side were offering McGuane regular football at the club but it seems that the midfielder has his heart set on a move to Barcelona.
