Arsene Wenger has decided to make a shock inclusion of Santi Cazorla to the Europa League squad for the rest of the campaign.

Cazorla played his last game for the Gunners in the Champions League clash against Ludogorets back in October of 2016 and since then the Spaniard has been out with a long-term injury.

Cazorla recently underwent yet another surgery and is still a long way away from full fitness but has been surprisingly named in the Europa League squad.

This has led many people to believe that the midfielder could make an appearance before the end of the campaign.

Wenger has cleared the air by claiming that he does not have much idea as to when Cazorla will return but he remains optimistic.

Wenger said: “He’s on the UEFA List. I don’t know how far he is since his last operation, but I put him there because we had room, I want him there and I want to give him strength as well to fight to come back.”
