Manchester City and Chelsea are said to be eyeing a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Rafael Leao – according to reports.

The youngster has come up through the ranks at Sporting and is currently one of the most talked about talents in European football. The 18-year-old has been at Sporting since the age of 9 and has already scored five goals in six games in the UEFA Youth League.

Leao has also scored 6 goals in 11 games for Sporting’s second string in the Segunda Liga and the Premier League is said to be the next destination for the youngster.

While Chelsea are planning to make a move for Leao during the summer transfer window but it seems that Manchester City will probably land him – given the great professional relationship between Sporting and City.

If City do manage to sign him up then it is more than certain the Portugal U21 international will not immediately get first-team opportunities at the club. And this could be a perfect chance for Celtic FC to come in and swoop up the player on loan.

Leao is rumoured to be a huge Celtic FC fan and some reports are suggesting that if the striker moves to the Premier League next season whether it be Chelsea or Manchester City – Celtic FC will make a move to bring the player to Scotland on a season-long loan.
