RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has expressed his desire to play in England and clubs like Manchester City, United and Liverpool have all been put on high alert.

Werner joined Leipzig in 2016 from VfB Stuttgart and since his move, he has played 61 games for the German outfit – scoring 37 goals. But in a recent interview, the German International has claimed that he would love to play in England.

Werner told Sport1: “It would be a lie to say in England you’d not like to play for Manchester United or Manchester City,

“If you take Germany, it would be a lie to say that you would not like to play for Bayern.

“Spain – Barca or Real. There are great clubs in every league. Italy or France would not be my leagues, but the other three.

“There are so many clubs you’d like to play for. I don’t want to tie myself down.”

Werner has given a clear indication that if he decides to move to England then his first preferences would be both the Manchester clubs. But apart from City and United, Arsenal, as well as Liverpool, are said to be interested in the 21-year-old.

It is being reported that the German International has rejected a new contract at his Bundesliga club having already told Leipzig that he wants to move out of Germany during the summer transfer window.

Werner has already bagged 10 caps for the German National Teams after making his debut in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the forward has already scored 7 goals.
