Manchester City and Arsenal might have the opportunity to sign West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans for just £3 million – reportedly.

The North Irish International has been a transfer target for both City and Arsenal for more than a year now and the Gunners even had a bid rejected for the centre-back during the January transfer window. Now though it seems that Evans might be available for next to nothing during the summer.

Arsenal had placed a £12 million bid for Evans in January which was rejected as it fell short of the Baggies asking price of £20-25 million.

Wenger though still maintains substantial interest in the player and will most definitely go back for him during the summer.

Pep Guardiola is also a huge admirer of Evans and he too is expected to launch a bid as soon as the current season comes to an end.

But if reports are to be believed then Jonny Evans might be available for just £3 million.

Reports are coming out of England that there is a clause in the contract of Evans that would allow him to leave for just £3m if West Bromwich Albion are relegated from the Premier League.

And there is huge possibility that the Baggies might drop down to the Championship next season.

West Brom are currently 20th on the Premier League table with just 20 points and are still 7 points off the safe zone.
