Arsenal overcame the Ostersunds FK’s test in the round of 32 of the Europa League with an aggregate scoreline of 4-2.

But in the second leg for a brief period of time, it looked as if Ostersunds might stage a fairytale comeback after they went ahead 2-0 within the 23rd minute of the match. It took a goal from Sead Kolasinac in the 47th minute to calm the nerves down for the Gooners. But Arsenal were unable to break down the Swedish outfit again meaning that the match ended with a scoreline of 2-1 in favour of Ostersunds.

This meant that the Gunners suffered a defeat at the hands of Ostersunds and for the people who were watching the game closely the scoreline was certainly not the most bizarre thing.

If you had watched the game closely you would have noticed that Arsenal played the match in their away kit despite playing at the Emirates.

Weird, right?

Well, it seems that UEFA asked Arsenal to wear their second kit as Europe’s top footballing body thought that there might be a chance of a clash with Ostersunds’ away kit which has a blend of red and black.

But the possibility of a clash was quickly put to rest as the Swedish club took the field wearing their white home kit for the away fixture.

Do your homework, UEFA.

Arsenal have drawn AC Milan in the Round of 16 of the Europa League and the first leg encounter will take place in Italy on the 8th of March, 2018.
