Arsenal were humbled and humiliated by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The Gunners lost the match 3-0 and calling it a below-par performance would be a big understatement. Wenger’s men looked languid, detached and weak in front of Manchester City. City were undoubtedly the better team for the whole 90 minutes but it was the way in which the Gunners accepted defeat has turned their fan base against them – one more time.

And perhaps the biggest rant came from former Manchester United defender and current pundit Gary Neville.

Neville was on co-commentating duties at the Wembley on Sunday and after Arsenal conceded the third goal, the pundit just ripped into Arsenal and tore them apart – verbally.

Neville said: “Look at Ramsey, he’s walking. Xhaka is walking. Özil is walking. Don’t walk. Don’t walk at Wembley.

“Run. Look at Ramsey & Xhaka, look at them walking back, central midfield players.

“They’re an absolute disgrace. Walking on the football pitch at Wembley. Ramsey, Xhaka, they’ve given up. They’re a disgrace. At least City are playing properly.”

Neville added: “These Arsenal players have been given far too many chances over these past few years and they’ve shown us they’re not good enough. Wenger’s faith in them has been too great.”

And to add salt to the wounds, Neville’s rant coincided with a young Arsenal fan crying.

But the Gunners will have to face their demons once again as they host City at Manchester City at the Emirates on Thursday night.
