Manchester City picked up their first trophy of the season in the form of the Carabao Cup after defeating Arsenal at the Wembley on Sunday.

City blew away their competitors winning the final 3-0 and defender Kyle Walker was quick to take a dig at his former team Tottenham Hotspur for their lack of silverware.

Walker joined the Etihad outfit during the summer from Spurs and the 27-year-old has already picked up his first winner medal. Walker is also expected to wear the Premier League winners medal at the end of the season as City are comfortably sitting on top of the league table.

Guardiola’s hopes of picking up a quadruple were squashed last week as City were knocked out of the FA Cup by Wigan Athletic. But they can still win the treble as their Champions League campaign is moving in the right direction.

On the other hand, though, Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of winning the Premier League title has been squandered a long time back and their Champions League clash is also hanging on a very thin line.

And Kyle Walker used his Carabao Cup winning moment to take a cheeky dig at his former club.

The 27-year-old defender said: “It’s no good having a career and not winning anything so to get the first one for me personally, it’s fantastic.

“It’s a great feeling to know that I’ve got one ticked off and hopefully there’s many more to come.

“They always say the first one is the most difficult one so we’ve got that one ticked off now.

“We’ve got two important cups that we’re in and we need to push. We’ve got a big push until the end of the season.

“We’ve got to make sure that we’re fighting… We’re just happy. We’re all professional footballers and we all want to win medals.”

Spurs take on Rochdale in the FA Cup replay at the Wembley this Wednesday and then a week later they play host to Juventus in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. The tie is perfectly poised at 2-2 but Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that his team have the upper hand after picking up two crucial away goals in the first leg.
