Arsenal lost the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City by a scoreline of 3-0 and Arsene Wenger has admitted that this could very well be his last visit to the Wembley as the manager of Arsenal.

Sergio Aguero put Manchester City in the lead in the 18th minute thanks to a defensive lapse from the Gunners. And after that goal, the North London outfit were never quite able to make a comeback into the match. Vicent Kompany doubled the lead for the Citizens in the 58th minute and it was David Silva who put the final nail in the coffin by making it 3-0 in the 65th minute.

After the third goal, it was one-way traffic as the Gunners practically accepted defeat.

But it seems that Arsene Wenger was still optimistic that a miracle might happen – even during the injury time.

The fourth official indicated an additional three minutes at the end of the second half which offended the Arsenal manager and he questioned the fourth official as to why so little injury time was added on.

And the fourth official had a savage reply.

Wenger said: ‘When I said “Why do you not give more time?” he told me “Why do you want more time?

‘I told him: “It’s not down to you to judge how long is the time, if you want or not, give a normal [amount of] added time”.’

Arsenal hold Manchester City at the Emirates in three days time – this time in the Premier League. A win for Manchester City in this upcoming fixture would give them the change to extend their lead at the top of the table while for Arsenal this fixture will be an opportunity to close down that 10 point gap with 4th place Tottenham Hotspur.
