Romelu Lukaku has finally gotten rid of the voodoo and scored against a top 6 club this season. And it seems that the Belgian is using this good outing on Sunday to make himself heard to the United fans.

Lukaku scored the first goal for Manchester United on Sunday and set up the second for Jesse Lingard. The Belgian has now managed to score 22 goals for United across all competitions in a season which many have deemed to be a failure for the striker.

Lukaku chose to join Manchester United during the summer from Everton rejected a potential return to his former club Chelsea. But his move to Manchester has been anything but rosy.

The striker has gone through a couple of rough patches during the current season and has also seen his own fans booing him.

But Lukaku has always had the support of his manager and has managed to claw himself back to form.

And after United’s win against Chelsea on Sunday the big Belgian had a thing or two to say.

Lukaku said: “When I make a choice it’s with my head and my heart. I made the right choice for me

“As you can see, I’m in a good situation. I’m with a manager and players who push me every day. The challenge is there to win, and it’s something that I wanted.”

“I think I have got a nice record”, Lukaku added. “I’ve scored a lot this season, and I just want to keep going.

“I know that I can improve and I want to improve and really work hard. I want to win trophies. We are still in the fight in two competitions. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s a nice challenge.

“I’m 24 and I think I have a lot of years ahead of me to improve before my prime so I’m never satisfied. I always want to improve and get better, and it’s a nice challenge.

“[Do people forget how young I am?] Yeah, because I’ve been in the game for so long. I started playing when I was 16.

“Year in, year out people expect 20 goals from me. I’ve been doing it for [almost] ten years straight so I think I’ve proved myself.

“You expect a bit more respect, but it’s the situation we’re in. I don’t listen to it. I just want to improve and show the people what I can do on the pitch.

“I’m playing for the biggest club in the world. It’s something that I wanted, but it’s not only that. I just want to win trophies.”

Romelu Lukaku has scored 22 goals in 40 games this season and the striker is just 4 short of his total tally of 26 goals which he had scored for Everton in the previous campaign. But the United frontman will easily surpass that tally given that his only competitor for the striker’s position – Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not a 100 percent fit to play the whole 90 minutes in a competitive game.
