Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United from Arsenal during the January transfer window and the United fans have visibly shown their excitement at the Chilean joining their club. But it looks like Manchester United’s board are not too pleased with the transfer.

Sanchez made a straight swap to United with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to Arsenal. But the Chilean has yet to deliver in United colours and most of his performances for the club have been quite subdued. He has made little to no contribution towards the play and on top of that players like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been benched more regularly as a result of the new No 7.

If a report from Spanish publication El Pais is to be believed then the Manchester United board members have expressed regret for signing Sanchez to rival Premier League executives when they had a meeting last week.

Officials from various clubs had met in London to participate in the auction of Premier League television rights and this is where the United board members shared their grief.

The report claims that the management was not happy with getting Alexis Sanchez during the January transfer window as the Chilean’s arrival has caused a lot of unbalance within the team.

Sanchez’s acquisition might not have cost a penny but United feel that they lost a lot of money in terms of fees and agent fees. The board members thought that they spent unnecessary money on getting a player whom they could have gotten for absolutely nothing during the summer.

The report claims that Sanchez’s wages have disoriented United’s rigid payment structure and also given rise to a lot of tension in the dressing room.

The United board members have also questioned Jose Mourinho’s approach towards buying players in the transfer market and they feel that the manager’s plans are very short term.
