Arsenal star Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has claimed that the embarrassing defeat at the hands of Manchester City has really hurt his team member’s spirits.

The Gunners suffered two defeats at the hands of Manchester City within a span of 5 days and the second defeat has clearly caused a severe blow to Arsenal and their top 4 hopes. Wenger’s side are currently 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and their chances of playing in the Champions League this season is shrinking with each passing game.

And now January signing Pierre Emerick-Aubameynag has revealed that his teammates ‘are a bit resigned’ after Thursday night’s defeat to Manchester City.

Talking to French TV station SFR, Aubameyang said: ‘There is a lot of disappointment. We are not happy with our displays either tonight or Sunday,

‘We could not score that goal that could have pushed us on. City play very well too. The way they play, they are one of the best teams in the world.

‘Obviously it is not easy when you cannot score a goal to give us extra energy. There are maybe some players who are a bit resigned.’

After Sunday’s Carabao Cup defeat at the hands of Manchester City, the Gunners came out with a much more positive intent on Thursday night but City tore their defence apart with some clinical passing.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring on the 15th-minute mark and by the 33rd minute City were up 3-0.

Arsenal did have the chance of conjuring a possible comeback when they got a penalty but unfortunately, Aubameyang failed to convert from the penalty spot.

Wenger’s men next travel to Sussex on Sunday to take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
