England manager Gareth Southgate is set to meet t Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay in order to convince him to play for the Three Lions – according to Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old has been in terrific form for the past couple of months for Manchester United and his performances have grabbed the eyeballs of both the Scotland and England manager as McTominay is eligible to play for both of them.

McTominay joined the Manchester United academy at the age of five and since then the player has slowly worked his way into the first team setup.

He started his career playing as a centre-forward and it was not until later in his career that he turned into a midfielder.

McTominay made his first-team debut last season and in the 2017-18 campaign, he has slowly and steadily become Jose Mourinho’s go to man – especially in the last few games.

The midfielder has made 15 appearances for Manchester United this season and 4 of them have come in the Premier League.

The Lancaster lad has yet to decide which country he wants to represent in the international circuit as he is eligible to play for Scotland – having Scottish grandparents and also England.

Scotland manager Alex McLeish has already met Scott McTominay and tried to persuade him to play for Scotland and now its Gareth Southgate’s turn to give a presentation.

Despite having 15 appearances this campaign the midfielder is yet to score a goal in United colours. But manager Jose Mourinho has come out to claim that the only reason why McTominay is not scoring goals is because of the duties that he as a manager is asking him to do.
