Liverpool picked up a 2-0 win against Newcastle United on Saturday and it was another routine win for the Merseyside outfit thanks to their attacking talents.

Mo Salah opened the scoring for the Reds in the 40th minute and with that, he clocked up his 24th Premier League goal this season and 32nd in all competitions. Then 10 minutes into the second half Sadio Mane made it 2-0 for the home team.

The second goal killed off any hopes of a comeback for Newcastle United and it was time for Jurgen Klopp to conserve his players for the Champions League clash against Porto in midweek.

But to a lot of people’s surprise, the manager decided to keep Mo Salah on the pitch for the full 90 minutes and he took off Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino instead.

This rightly raised a lot of questioned and many claimed that the German manager was not taking the Porto game too easily because they have a 5-0 lead from the first leg.

But the manager has come out to defend his choice of substitutions.

Klopp Said: “Mo makes his own breaks on the pitch!

“We have to save Roberto and Sadio.”

Liverpool host Porto in the second leg of the Round of 16 clash in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Reds already have a 5 goal advantage meaning they literally have one foot in the Quarterfinals.

Next weekend they hit the road to take on Manchester United in a high profile clash in the English Premier League.
