Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has revealed that he will play for Scotland.

The 21-year-old who has rapidly risen to the scene at Manchester United was eligible to play for both Scotland and England but he has chosen to play for Alex Mcleish’s side.

McLeish who was named the new manager of Scotland recently had gone to Man United’s training base at Carrington last week in order to convince McTominay to play for them.

And it seems his talk with the youngster has worked wonders.

England manager Gareth Southgate was also scheduled to meet the United academy graduate but it seems that that meeting has to be scrapped.

McTominay has made 15 appearances for Manchester United this season and during the past couple of games, he has become a pivotal part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

The youngster received huge praises after his standout performance in the 2-1 against Chelsea last weekend.

He will make his Scotland debut after he is named in Wednesday’s squad for matches against Costa Rica and Hungary.
