Former Rangers FC star player Barry Ferguson rated Rangers defender James Tavernier as the best right-back in the Scottish Premiership right now.

Ferguson, who had two different spells at Ibrox said, Tavernier is a highly talented defender and the fans are quite happy with the claim.

As Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record:“A couple of weeks ago I picked out James Tavernier for a word of praise because his attitude and performances have been so impressive.

“I would argue with anybody there is not a better right-back in the country at the moment.”

According to the ex-Rangers FC midfielder, Tavernier is the best player in the squad. And there are reasons why he is claiming the right-back as the best player, as Tavernier has been performing outstandingly in recent weeks.

The former Wigan Athletic player moved to Ibrox in the summer of 2015 when Mark Warburton was the Gers manager, for a whopping transfer fee of £200,000 as reported by The Daily Mail.

Last month the right-back signed a new contract with Rangers and he is committed to The Gers until the summer of 2021.

As Rangers are standing second in the league table with just six points behind their arch-rivals Celtic FC, they are looking forward to giving their best performance.
