Chelsea star David Luiz has been sidelined once again and the centre-back is said to be out for atleast a month this time – according to reports.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move out of Stamford Bridge during the summer and now it seems that the centre-back will have no opportunity to regain the faith of Antonio Conte.

Luiz has made just four starts since November of last year. At first, he was dropped after a reported ego clash with the manager but soon he picked up an ankle injury and has not been able to fully recover from it.

The Evening Standard claims that Luiz’s current injury stems from a tackle that he suffered in December of 2016.

The centre-back has visited a number of specialists in Spain in order to cure his problem but it seems that he is no closer to being fully cured.

Luiz has now suffered another setback and is set to be out of action for another month.

This means that the Brazilian is set to miss a number of important clashes for Chelsea including the away trip to Barcelona next week and also the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on the 1st of April.

Luiz will also miss the Blues FA Cup fixture against Leicester City.

Chelsea have done perfectly fine in the absence of David Luiz as youngster Andreas Christensen has taken up his place in central defence but with Luiz being unavailable, Antonio Conte loses the luxury of rotating his squad.

The manager has to constantly pick the trio of Rudiger, Azpilicueta and Christensen as his defensive trio and playing week in week out has certainly been tiring for the three players.
