Chelsea could be in for some bad news as Andres Iniesta might become fit to play in the Champions League clash next week.

The midfielder was forced off the pitch during Barcelona’s game against Athletico Madrid on Sunday and it was later confirmed that the World Cup winner had picked up a hamstring injury.

Iniesta picked up the injury during the 20th minute of the match and tried his best to shake it off. But eventually, he had to be withdrawn in the 36th minute.

After the match, multiple reports had claimed that the midfielder could very well miss that Champions League second leg clash but now a new message from Barcelona has put all those reports in doubt.

Barcelona released a statement on their official website which reads: “In the meantime, Andres Iniesta has continued his recovery from a hamstring problem sustained against Atletico Madrid on Sunday when he was replaced by Andre Gomes after 36 minutes.

“His availability for future matches will depend on how things develop.”

This statement from Barcelona certainly does not reveal too many details on Iniesta’s injury or his recovery but we feel that the midfielder might be making some good progress and has every chance of playing against Chelsea.
