Manchester United came from 2 goals down to win their Monday night fixture against Crystal Palace 3-2 and the Red Devils will certainly be hoping to pick up all three points against Liverpool at home on Saturday.

Liverpool are just two points behind Manchester United in the league and a win at Old Trafford would mean that Jurgen Klopp’s men will take the second spot on the table. Klopp’ team is in high spirits as they are unbeaten in their past seven matches in all competitions. Even though United will be playing at home but we feel that Jose Mourinho will set up his team with a defensive mindset in order to nullify the Liverpool forward line.

We take a look at Man United’s predicted line up vs Liverpool.

MAN UNITED TEAM NEWS:

We do not expect Jose Mourinho to make a whole lot of changes to his team that beat Crystal Palace on Monday night. The defensive line will remain the same with Young on the left, Valencia on the right and Smalling and Lindelof as the central defensive pairing. Eric Bailly has made himself fit but we doubt if Mourinho will straightaway throw him into such a high profile encounter.

Nemanja Matic scored United’s injury-time against the Eagles and he will start in defensive midfield. Paul Pogba had a mixed bag game last time around but Mourinho will not drop him to the bench simply because the manager does not have too many options.

Scot McTominay was deployed to man-mark Eden Hazard when United beat Chelsea and we feel that Mourinho might use the 21-year-old to do a similar kind of job on Mo Salah.

Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku will also retain their places from the Palace game but Mourinho would want to use Juan Mata’s experience in the final third of the pitch meaning the Spaniard might come into the line up in place of Jesse Lingard.

MAN UNITED’S PREDICTED LINE UP VS LIVERPOOL:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea.

Defence: Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Valencia.

Midfield: Pogba, Matic, McTonminay.

Attack: Sanchez, Lukaku, Mata.
