Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has slammed Antonio Conte for his overly defensive tactics which clearly shows that the Belgium International is growing frustrated with the Chelsea boss.

The Blues lost 1-0 to Manchester City last weekend and many people have gone on to claim that this was one of the worst performances from a Chelsea side that they had seen for a very long time.

Chelsea took the pitch with a defensive mindset and as the game progressed they went into a shell which led City to take full control of the game.

Antonio Conte left both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud on the bench and chose to play Eden Hazard as a false nine.

This meant that the Blues had to resort to long balls and this tactic proved worthless for them.

Now Eden Hazard has come out and blasted his manager for his defensive mindset.

Hazard said: “It was difficult. Against Barcelona (in the Champions League) we at least had a few chances. In that game, we could have scored.

“Against City, we didn’t create any. Once we had the ball, we were immediately surrounded by three or four players. We have also wasted some simple passes.

“When the manager plays me up front, I try to give everything, but we haven’t played a good game.

“For me personally it’s difficult to play a good game when you only touch the ball three times. I think that when we had the ball we should have done better. We have made some bad decisions too.

“I try to jump towards the long balls. I played today against (Nicolas) Otamendi and (Aymeric) Laporte and it’s not easy to win duels against them.

“We haven’t played with our qualities. If Giroud or Morata would have played up front it would have been easier to play those long balls.

“When you leave the pitch you have the impression that you’ve ran, but that you haven’t played a game of football. That’s a pity.

“We could have played on for 3 hours, and I wouldn’t have touched a ball. Only at the end, it went better because in the last 10-15 minutes we had more possession. But we should have tried to do that all game.”

Hazard was clearly frustrated with the lack of service he received throughout the City game but the Belgian’s woes have certainly not ended as Conte is more than likely to use the same formation when Chelsea take on Barcelona next week.
