West Brom defender Jonny Evans has been hot property for the past two transfer windows and now it seems that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettinho has also grown a liking towards him.

Arsene Wenger has had a couple of failed attempts to bring the centre-back to the Emirates but the Gunners manager has not yet given up hope. Arsenal are still said to be interested in Jonny Evans and will once again make a move for him during the summer transfer window.

But this time around they are set to make some stiff competition from their London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

According to reports, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring Jonny Evans to replace Toby Alderweireld who could very well move out at the end of the season.

Recently news had surfaced that the Lilywhites had stalled contract talks with the Belgian defender and they will not be providing Alderweireld with a new deal.

And now it seems that Daniel Levy has already set the ball rolling to bring in an apt replacement.

If Alderweireld is not provided with a new contract by the end of the season then the centre-back is sure to move out in the summer – which in turn is good news for Manchester United.

Manchester United are amongst the clubs who are interested in the Belgian International and they are reportedly keeping a close eye on the defender’s situation at Spurs.

A few reports have also claimed that Jose Mourinho might try and bring back Jonny Evans to the club but if Toby Alderweireld becomes available in the transfer market then surely the Portuguese manager will go after him.
