Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in recent months has worn a yellow ribbon in support of the activists imprisoned in Catalunya. And the FA has not let the Spaniard coach walk past free.

The City manager has been a very vocal supporter of the independence of Catalunya and has been seen wearing the yellow ribbon for a couple of months now. Guardiola has been wearing the ribbon to show his support for activists and politicians who are imprisoned for campaigning for Catalan independence.

And now the FA have decided to fine the Manchester City manager £20,000 ($27,800). This fine was imposed after Guardiola admitted to a charge of breaching the FA’s kit rules by wearing a yellow ribbon on the touchline during a game.

After the fine was announced the former Barcelona manager announced that he would no longer wear the symbol during English domestic games.

Having said the though, Guardiola is free to wear the ribbon on the touchline during Champions League games as it does not contravene UEFA regulations.

He can also wear it during pre and post-game media events.
