Manchester United lost 2-1 to Sevilla FC on Tuesday and with that, the La Liga outfit managed to win their first ever match on English soil.

Sevilla scored two goals in quick succession during the final 20 minutes of the game courtesy of substitute Ben Yedder. Apart from that, the Spanish side had it a lot easy during the course of the game and this was primarily due to the tactics of Jose Mourinho.

The Man United manager chose to make a series of changes to his first eleven which grabbed the eyeballs of a lot of people.

The Portuguese chose to rest Juan Mata during the game even though the Spaniard has been in top form for the past couple of games. And the other big one change was the inclusion of Marouane Fellaini in central midfielder in place of Paul Pogba,

These two substitutions clearly showed that Mourinho focused more heavily on his defensive tactics rather than his attacking ones.

And speaking after the match Sevilla FC midfielder Steven N’Zonzi more or less certified this fact.

N’Zonzi told beIN Sports: “I think we played well at home, but we didn’t score that goal, so we knew it was going to be very hard here at this stadium,

“But at the end, in football, anything can happen and we proved it, so that’s great.

“Even myself, I thought they were going to press a little bit more, but the first 20 minutes we saw that we could keep the ball, we could play our possession game the way we like and we just kept going until the end.”

“Anything is possible,

That’s football.

“Just two games, so in two games you can beat anyone.

“We know that it’s hard, it’s always hard against those big teams, but we proved that anything can happen in football.”
