Jack Wilshere has slowly become an integral part of the Arsenal’s midfield during the past couple of months but Arsene Wenger has clearly stated that the midfielder’s future is far from secure at the Emirates.

Wilshere’s current contract with the Gunners expires during the summer and he has three months left to sign a new deal with the club.

But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that even though he wants Wilshere to stay at the club but the English International can very well leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Wenger said: “We make a proposal to him, I want him to stay and my desire is to see him linked to the club for the future. I hope he will do it,”

The Arsenal boss also said that he was optimistic about Jack Wilshere getting a call-up to the England squad for the upcoming World Cup in Russia but the final decision does rest with Gareth Southgate.

“Yes and I wish he is in the England squad. The vibes I get are positive. I believe he has a good chance to be in there, but we have to leave that to Gareth Southgate. I have enough to do with my job,” Wenger added.

Last season Jack Wilshere moved to Bournemouth on a loan spell in order to get some much-needed game time under his belt. But his season there was highly unsuccessful prompting him to return back to the Emirates last summer.

This year though his performances have seen a vast improvement and he has largely remained injury free.
