Manchester United’s recent exit from the Champions League knockout stages have caused quite a bit of stir amongst the club and many people are claiming that Jose Mourinho’s time in the managerial chair is soon coming to an end.

While the Portuguese has claimed that he will see out his contract with the club but England football has been abuzz with news that the Manchester United hierarchy are losing faith in their manager at a very rapid rate.

Spanish outlet Don Balon are claiming that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is set to replace Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The Argentine has been at Atletico for a couple of seasons now and he has been the subject of interest from the likes of Inter Milan and Chelsea in the past.

Simeone has delivered the 2013-14 La Liga title with Atletico despite his club being the clear underdogs and he has also helped the Spanish outfit to reach two Champions League finals in a span of four years.

This bit of news is still in its earlier stages but the fact that it comes from a top Spanish publication like Don Balon makes it a bit more interesting.

Jose Mourinho’s tactics at Manchester United have been the subject of criticism from fans and pundits alike and especially after their defeat at the hands of Sevilla, a lot of people are claiming that the former Chelsea boss is not the right man for the job at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has never been regarded as a manager who stays with a club for too long and with things turning sour at United it remains to be seen how long will he be at the club.
