Arsenal are preparing to make a move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi during the summer transfer who also happens to be on the shopping list of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Recent reports had suggested that Klopp is planning to make a move for the Nigerian as a replacement to Emre Can who is set to join Juventus on a free transfer at the end of the season. Some rumours also suggested that Liverpool have already agreed on initial terms with the Foxes midfielder.
Now though the Sun are suggesting that Arsenal are also planning to make a move for Ndidi.
The Gunners are set to lose Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey during the summer and the club’s Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has made Wilfred Ndidi his biggest priority for the upcoming transfer window.
But a lot of this interest will depend on whether Arsene Wenger remains at the helm at the end of the season. Several reports have suggested that the Frenchman has agreed to step down from his position meaning that this interest in Wilfred Ndidi could be very short lived.
Whether Arsenal will make a move for the Nigerian will totally depend on the new manager who will be coming in.
Some say that former BVB manager Thomas Tuchel is the first in line to take charge at the Emirates and if this happens then the German boss might not agree with Mislintat and his choice – as he has done during the pair’s time at Dortmund.
This bit of news though causes a big problem for Liverpool who up until this point were the only big name said to be interested in Wilfred Ndidi.
The Merseyside outfit will have Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita on board during the summer and if Ndidi were to join Liverpool then surely he will not be a guaranteed starter.
Whereas if he moves to the Emirates, Wilfred Ndidi is more or less a guaranteed starter.
