Manchester United’s Juan Mata has been in fine form for most of the season and he has somewhat become a mainstay for Jose Mourinho. But it seems that the Spaniard’s time at Old Trafford is drawing to a close.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is making plans to bring Chelsea playmaker Willian into the squad which could very well mean that Juan Mata might be sold during the summer transfer window.

Mata arrived at United from Chelsea during Mourinho’s regime at the Bridge and when Jose took charge of Manchester United everyone thought that the Spaniard would be sold off once more.

But the duo’s relationship both off and on the pitch has taken a totally different turn and this season Juan Mata is easily one of the first names on Mourinho’s team sheet.

Now though according to an exclusive report by The Sun, Jose Mourinho had held meetings with Willian’s representative last summer but the talks eventually broke down.

But the Special One has not lost his interest in the Chelsea winger and has asked the United hierarchy to make a move for the Brazilian at the end of the season.

If United are indeed serious about bringing Willian on board then it would invariably mean that Juan Mata will be shown the door during the summer.

What is a bit interesting about these two players is the fact that both of them are 29-years-old. So clearly Willian is in no ways a long-term solution for Manchester United.

But then Jose Mourinho has never been regarded as a manager who thinks too far into the future.
