Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had claimed on Friday that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was offered to him during the January transfer window but the Spanish manager chose to not go ahead with the deal.
Guardiola stated that the player was too expensive and also added that Mino Raiola had offered the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan shortly before the Armenian joined Arsenal at the start of the new year.
The City boss and agent Mino Raiola have had a long-standing feud and Guardiola chose to bring that up once again on Friday.
Guardiola said: “Finally, the people discover my secrets, I’m a bad guy, I’m a coward,
“I don’t understand why I am such a bad guy. But being this guy, two months ago he offered me Mkhitaryan and Pogba to play with us. Why?
“Why did he offer them? He was interested in Mkhitaryan and Pogba playing with us.
“Pogba is an incredible player. A top, top player.
“I said no. We don’t have the money enough to buy Pogba because he is so expensive.”
But minutes after Pep Guardiola made this statement, Paul Pogba posted a picture on his Instagram account which looked to be a clear message to the City boss.
Pogba posted an image from training where he has his hands cupped to his ear and the image is aptly captioned: “Say what?”
Manchester City take on Manchester United at the Etihad on Saturday and they will have the change of wrapping up the Premier League title if they can pick up all three points against their city rivals.
