When Manchester United and Manchester City took the field at the Etihad last weekend, Pep Guardiola has this dream of beating their bitter rivals and wrapping up the Premier League title on that very day.

But Jose Mourinho’s men made sure that did not happen.

City started the match in fine fashion and went 2-0 up by half-time and they virtually had one hand on the Premier League trophy. But in the second-half, Manchester United staged a wonderful comeback and slammed three goals[a brace from Paul Pogba and the winner from Chris Smalling] to pick up all three points.

This win meant that City’s celebrations were promptly delayed by United and the blue half of Manchester now have to wait for a couple of more matches in order to wrap up the season.

But after the match, United players made sure that they rubbed salt onto the City players wounds.

According to a report in the Sun, the United players started playing loud music in their dressing in order to infuriate the City lot.

They also made chants which were clearly directed at their counterparts.

And as per the report, one of the chants that the United players shouted were:

‘Booked tables have you? We’ll take your f***ing tables,’

The report also suggests that Mancunian Jesse Lingard was one of the more vocal United players who took part in the sledging.

It seems that Manchester United players haven’t clearly forgotten the mockery that the City players made of them after the Derby loss at Old Trafford in December when Guardiola’s men had sung, ‘park the bus’.

After the loss, City faced yet another setback as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool in midweek and this weekend they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

City are currently 13 points clear at the top of the league table and if they manage to beat the Lilywhites then they will open up a 16 point gap from their local rivals Manchester United who are scheduled to play West Brom on Sunday.
