Liverpool have joined the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in the race to sign Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season.

There have been numerous reports floating around that the Polish International wants to move out of Germany during the summer and play in a new league so that he can take up a fresh challenge.

And keeping in line with the news, a couple of reports have claimed that Premier League side Chelsea are the frontrunners in signing the striker. Or atleast they had been the frontrunners.

Now according to the Daily Star, Liverpool have also entered the race to sign Robert Lewandowski and the Reds are expected to launch a bid at the end of the season.

Apart from Chelsea and Liverpool, Manchester City are also in the hunt for the 29-year-old.

Chelsea summer signing Alvaro Morata has failed to impress this season and the club’s owner Roman Abramovich is looking to bring in a new alternative to the Spaniard.

But now that Manchester City and Liverpool have entered the picture, the Blues are sure to fall down the pecking order.

And this is primarily because both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have previously worked with Lewandowski.

The Liverpool manager was in charge of Borussia Dortmund when the Polish International broke into the European circuit and he has also worked with Pep Guardiola when the Spaniard was in charge of Bayern Munich a couple of seasons ago.

Liverpool are counting on this previous relationship between the player and manager and hoping that Jurgen Klopp can entice Robert Lewandowski to move to Anfield.

Between the three clubs that are interested in the Bayern Munich forward, every one of them currently has a first choice top class striker amongst their ranks but then Robert Lewandowski is a luxury anyone would want to have.
