When Jurgen Klopp signed Mo Salah from AS Roma last summer little did he know that the Egyptian winger would turn everything on its head.

With Mo Salah has been setting the Premier League on fire this season and the winger has now beaten Manchester’s City’s Kevin De Druyne to the PFA POTY award.

After winning the award, Mo Salah said: “My personal ambition is to win something with the team. I always think about the team, I don’t think about myself,

“The most important thing is to win something with the team and we’re very close now with the semi-final.

“Hopefully, we’re going to win. The team has helped me a lot because of the way we play. They pass me the ball a lot and always try to find me.”

Along with the POTY award, Salah will also end the season with a place in the PFA team of the year and a lot of players and teammates took to the social media in order to congratulate the Egyptian International.

But Simon Mignolet’s comment was easily the highlight of the lot.

Mo Salah shared a picture of himself holding the POTY award on Instagram.

He wrote: “Truly honoured by this prize which was awarded to me by colleagues – very special day.”

And replying to this picture Simon Mignolet wrote: “Take care Mo, someone else might claim it!”

This comment was obviously a sly dig at Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane who has been the butt of a lot of jokes during the past couple of weeks.

Kane created a fiasco by trying to claim a Christian Eriksen goal as his own in order to bag the Golden Boot at the end of the season and Spurs added more fuel to the fire by requesting the Football Association to award the goal to Harry Kane.

Simon Mignolet has been warming the benches as Jurgen Klopp has used German goalkeeper Loris Karius as his No 1 in recent months but the German International is surely acing it on social media.
