Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger announced on Friday that he would be stepping down from his position at the end of the season. And ever since this news was made public, fans have been scratching their heads as to who will replace the Frenchman during the summer.
A lot of names have been put forward by various sources amongst which the name of former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel signs the brightest.
Multiple reports have claimed that the German manager is waiting to become the next Gunners boss and that is why he rejected a job at Bayern Munich next season.
Now though, a couple of sources from France have claimed that Tuchel is the man who will replace Unai Emery at PSG at the end of the season after the club’s owners decided that the former BVB man is the right man to take PSG forward.
Former midfielder Patrick Vieira’s name was also put forward as the replacement to Arsene Wenger but the Frenchman has claimed that he is quite content with his managerial role at MLS side New York City FC and currently has no intentions of moving to the Premier League.
Now according to Sky Sports, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has picked the man who will replace Arsene Wenger at the end of the season.
Ivan Gazidis wants former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta to become the next boss at the Emirates.
Arteta is currently the joint assistant coach to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, alongside fellow co-assistants Brian Kidd and Domènec Torrent.
While Mikel does not have enough experience to fill into the huge shoes of Arsene Wenger but Gazidis feels that the 36-year-old is the right man for the job.
Arteta played 149 games for the Gunners over the course of five seasons – from 2011 to 2016, and during this period he managed to score 16 goals.
While the midfielder is highly regarded amongst the Arsenal faithful but we are not quite sure how they will take this news of Mikel Arteta being the person who replaces Arsene Wenger.
