Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed that he might feature for the Gunners before the end of the season after a long injury layoff.
The Spaniard joined for the London outfit in 2012 from Malaga but he has not played for Arsenal since October of 2016 owing to an Achilles problem.
The injury has needed several operations including a skin graft from his arm but the midfielder has been working hard on his recovery and was spotted doing some training before Arsenal’s Europa League first-leg clash against Atletico Madrid last week.
And now Cazorla has revealed that he is hoping he can play under Arsene Wenger one last time before the Frenchman steps down at the end of the season.
Cazorla told Spanish outlet AS:Â “I’ve still got some way to go because after being sidelined for 18 months, everything has to be done in its own time.
“But the sensations I have keep getting better and I’m feeling optimistic about the future,
“The objective is to play some part with the team before the season ends, but we have to take things carefully.
“After being out for so long it will take a while to get back into form, it’s a real struggle, but when you have been out like I have, you also notice pains elsewhere – apart from what I’ve had with my tendon.
“But all of that must mean that I am doing things right, and I hope to be back as soon as possible.”
While Carzola wants to play for Arsenal before the end of the season but there is no certainty that the Spaniard will be with the club for the given campaign.
