After winning the Premier League in style just 12 months ago, Chelsea have fallen down the barrel this campaign and the Blues have even failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has received a fair bit of stick due to his failures during the past couple of months and now it is more or less certain that Roman Abramovich will bring in a new manager come to the end of the season.

And it seems that Antonio Conte is not the only person whose time is up at Stamford Bridge.

According to various reports, the Chelsea hierarchy are planning to sell off Alvaro Morata during the summer transfer window and bring in a replacement.

As per bookies BetStars, the Blues are looking at Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain as a possible replacement to Alvaro Morata.

Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Chelsea’s disappointing fifth-place finish in the Premier League this season has emphasised their need to strengthen during the upcoming transfer window and Gonzalo Higuain could be one target on the Blues’ transfer radar.

“Chelsea have emerged as the 11/8 favourites to snap up the Juventus striker as a possible replacement for misfiring Alvaro Morata at Stamford Bridge next season.

“However, the Blues could face competition from record-breakers Manchester City who are valued at 3/1 to add the Argentina international to their trophy-laden squad, while Manchester United follow just behind at 4/1 to become the 30-year-old’s destination this summer.”
