During an interview on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Steve Evans the 55-year-old Peterborough United FC manager has shown his desire to manage Celtic FC.

Evans just took the responsibilities of The Posh this year but his eyes are on Brendan Rodgers’ position.

Evans claimed if he could make Peterborough to the Championship, he will put himself on Celtic’s radar. He is expecting that in two or three years he will get a call from Celtic FC and he wants to see Rodgers somewhere in England.

Evans said on the radio: “I want to do well enough here that Dermot Desmond of Celtic picks up the telephone in two or three years and says Brendan Rodgers is off to somewhere in the Premier League, would you come and be our manager,

“Peterborough United doing well in the Championship gives me a chance doesn’t it?”

After listening to this Rodgers has clarified that he is quite happy at Celtic Park and is not in a rush to get back to England, and as he is not leaving Celtic FC there is no chance for Steve Evans to get a managerial post at Celtic FC.

Evans’ primary target is to get The Posh promoted to the Championship this season. Peterborough is currently three points down from the playoff spots in League One, the third tier of English football.

Evans will take charge of Peterborough United for the first time this weekend and now they are sitting 8th in the league table.

The first team that Steve Evans is going to face is the Shrewsbury Town who are currently sitting in the second position with 68 points.
