Tottenham Hotspur finally ended their Stamford Bridge hoodoo with a 3-1 win over Antonio Conte’s Chelsea on Sunday. The Blues took the lead on the 30th-minute mark thanks to Alvaro Morata and it felt as if the Lilywhites were going to have another disappointing outing. But thanks to a goal from Christian Eriksen and a brace from Dele Alli, Spurs were able to pick up their first win at the Bridge since 1990.

After Dele Alli tucked in the third goal in the 66th minute, every Spurs player was busy celebrating apart from one man – Christian Eriksen. The Danish International was having a go at Heung-min Son.

Eriksen was angry at Son for failing to square the ball on two occasions before Alli finally tucked the ball into the back of the net.

The South Korean had the chance to pass the ball to both Alli and Erik Lamela but thankfully Chelsea failed to clear the ball and Dele Alli scored his second goal of the night.

After the match though, Eriksen revealed to Sky Sports that it was nothing but constructive criticism which was directed towards Son.

Christian Eriksen said: “He made it more difficult than it was! Of course, we scored, so it was a relief, but if we didn’t score it would have been a big disappointment for Sonny not to pass it, but luckily Dele finished it off.”

Dele Alli who scored two goals on the night, revealed that he too was a little annoyed with Son but also went onto add that he had full faith in the player’s abilities.

Alli said: “I was complaining, I was a little bit annoyed that he didn’t, but Sonny is a player who is in really good form so when he goes through you’d back him to score. He kept it alive, and luckily it fell to me.”

By beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Spurs have opened up an eight-point lead at the fourth position of the table and they are now the clear favourites to become the fourth team who get to play in the Champions League next season.
