Let’s just call it the Cristiano Ronaldo effect.

As soon as Juventus officially announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, the Turin based outfit have been reaping the benefits of the deal.

Juve have paid a staggering £112 million(in total) for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and as soon as the transfer was announced the Serie A outfit’s stock jumped 16 % in just 16 minutes.

After that Juventus gained a flurry of followers on social media.

And now Yahoo Sports Italy are reporting that the club have sold a staggering 520,000 shirts within 24 hours of the announcement.

Yes, 520,000 shirts in just 24 hours.

A Juventus Adidas replica shirt with Ronaldo’s name on the back retails for about €105 which means that the club have managed to bring in close to €55 million just by selling Cristiano Ronaldo shirts.

But sadly Juventus are not going to see the whole amount from the shirt sales.

In the business of kit manufacturing and sponsorship, it is the manufacturer who gets the lion’s share of the sales while the club only gets a percentage of it(anywhere between 10 to 15 %).

But if you look at it from a positive aspect, not only Juventus but Adidas are also benefiting from Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Italy.
