3-4-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Swansea: A Major Overhaul In Midfield?

Chelsea take on Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening and the Blues will want to get back on track after the 1-1 draw against Liverpool this past weekend.

The Blues are currently 11 points behind league leaders Manchester City and cannot afford any more slip-ups. Hence we feel Antonio Conte will have no other option but to put out a strong first XI.

Here’s the Chelsea predicted lineup vs Swansea:

GOALKEEPER:

Thibaut Courtois

DEFENCE:

David Luiz will once again find himself on the bench and Antonio Rudiger is also likely to be rested. This means that Conte will go with the defensive lineup of Christensen, Cahill and Azpilicueta.

Cahill – Christensen – Azpilicueta

MIDFIELD:

Conte currently has an overload of midfielders and he will definitely have to make a careful selection. Tiemoue Bakayoko has a very poor game against Liverpool and we think that Conte will not stick with him for the Swansea match. Fabregas might also be given a much-deserved rest meaning that the former Leicester partnership of Drinkwater and Kante might take the field on Wednesday.

Marcos Alonso will be the left wing-back while David Zappacosta will be the right wing-back.

ATTACK:

Alvaro Morata will start up front as the lone striker while Eden Hazard will pick up his usual role on the left flank. We suppose that Conte will pick Willian over Pedro on Wednesday after the Brazilian have a few good outings during the past couple of games.

Hazard – Morata – Willian
