If reports from Italy are to be believed then Manchester United might have missed out on Ivan Perisic. According to the news, Inter Milan are set to offer a new deal to Perisic which will see the Croatian International become the highest paid footballer at the club.

But there are still a lot of good midfielders that are available in the market who are capable of an Ivan Perisic type performance.

1. Emil Forsberg (RB Leipzig)

This 25-year-old Swedish International is currently one of the best set-piece takers in world football and the fact that he has been voted as the Swedish midfielder of the year in 2014 and 2016 speaks volumes about his talent. He currently plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga Liga and his playing position is quite similar to that of Ivan Perisic.

Forsberg has a buy-out clause of €55 million which is the exact same amount that United were willing to pay for Perisic. But having said that, Manchester United had already made an enquiry about the player a few months back but Leipzig showed no interest whatsoever given the fact that they want to hold onto every player before they play in the Champions League.

2. Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur)

Mourinho said in a recent interview that he wants to sign a player who is capable of playing in the wide positions. And as per this statement, Spurs’ Dele Alli will be a perfect signing. The English International has played most of his matches for Tottenham in the final third of the pitch. And he became the player to watch out for in 2016-17 as he alongside Harry Kane reaped havoc.

The 21-year-old single handedly scored 22 goals for Spurs last season and made 7 assists. And Mauricio Pochettino was so impressed with the youngster that he even went on to claim that Alli has all the qualities to become as good as Neymar.

But the biggest problem for Manchester United would be to get hands on this player. Everyone in English football knows what a tough negotiator Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is and it will be very hard to convince him to sell off one of his best players. But no matter what United have to pay we can assure you that Alli will be worth every penny of it.

3. Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund)

Reports have been circulating that Barcelona want to sign Dembele as a potential replacement to Neymar who joined PSG recently. But you know what they say, “It ain’t over till it’s over.”

The 20-year-old French International scored 10 goals for Dortmund in the previous campaign and clocked up 18 assists. And he too will be a perfect alternative for Ivan Perisic. But if Manchester United show interest in Dembele then Ed Woodward will have to understand that the youngster will not come cheap. Barcelona are willing to pay as much as £90 million for him. And if United want his services then they will certainly have to offer an amount more than that. But given the amounts of crazy money that have been flowing around in the market, £90 million plus for a 20-year-old seems to be a very good deal.
